Where to Watch the Super Bowl in Boston this Weekend

February 4, 2012 |

Many Boston residents have been one-track minded this week. What’s everybody focused on? Not homes for sale in Boston, but the Patriots winning the Super Bowl this Sunday! Everyone's scouting the bars with the best specials, thinking about which condos in Boston will have the optimum setup for kickoff, and what dip recipe will complete the delicious game day spread. All valid questions, since Bostonians are unwavering in their team loyalty and extremely passionate sports fans.

There are so many sports bars and pubs sprinkled throughout Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. And they will undoubtedly be packed with cheering Patriots fans on Sunday. Watching from condos in Boston? Many restaurants cater to tailgating parties and will deliver right to your front door – just be sure to order in advance!

This is the first year the Super Bowl will be streamed over the Internet – providing the opportunity to catch each (Patriots!) touchdown on a mobile device. Playing into the competitive spirit, the Interactive Ad Bureau developed this infographic to compare mobile savviness between the Patriots and the Giants. Both audiences track above the national average, but the Patriots win the contest. Pretty amazing to see the prolific use of smart phones nationwide.

The game will be held in Indianapolis, instead of the Pats’ home stadium in Foxboro. There’s a lot of heavy controversy around building a in that area. Check out some of the recent news coverage. Many Foxboro residents are concerned about the implications on their property values if a casino is built – not to mention increased police detail, more traffic, etc. Homes for sale in Boston shouldn’t be impacted, but residents near Gillette Stadium are putting up a pretty vocal fight. I’ll keep you posted on casino developments in MA, and the impact on homes for sale in Boston.

In the meantime, go Pats! And if you’re looking for condos in Boston to watch the game comfortably, browse my listings for a home that will surely impress your guests.
